Incredibles 3 Is Officially Happening, and Fans Are Already Asking About Edna

Pixar dated Incredibles 3 for June 2028 at D23 2026, and for a lot of us the first question is whether a certain costume designer is coming back.

The Parr family is suiting up again. At the D23 2026 Disney Entertainment Showcase, Pixar confirmed Incredibles 3 and set it for June 16, 2028, giving the room an exclusive first look at where the story goes next.

Peter Sohn takes the director’s chair this time, with Dana Murray producing and Brad Bird, who wrote and directed the first two films, staying on as a producer. It is a natural handoff. Sohn is a longtime Pixar hand whose Elemental struck the same balance of heart and spectacle the Incredibles films are known for.

The one question every Incredibles fan is asking

Let us be honest about what a lot of us wanted to hear first. Is Edna Mode coming back? The first-look art Pixar showed at D23 answered it. Edna Mode is back, in frame with the whole Parr family and Frozone. For plenty of fans, she was the headline of the entire reveal.

Edna, voiced with total commitment by Brad Bird himself, has been stealing scenes since 2004 with a single philosophy and one unforgettable rule: no capes. She is small, she is fierce, she has no patience for self-doubt, and she has become one of Pixar’s most quoted characters. A new Incredibles without her would feel incomplete, and Bird knowing that better than anyone is reason for optimism.

We wrote about exactly this not long ago in The Highly Anticipated Return of Edna Mode, and D23 only turned the volume up. Consider this the update: the movie is real, it is dated, and Edna is officially back. Now the wait is for the rest of the casting.

A franchise that earned the sequel

The Incredibles arrived in 2004 and won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature. Incredibles 2 followed fourteen years later in 2018 and became a monster hit, crossing 1.2 billion dollars worldwide and setting records for an animated opening. Pixar has never rushed this family, and a third film after another long gap fits the pattern of bringing the Parrs back only when there is a story worth telling.

Incredibles 3 is part of a deep Pixar bench at D23 2026 that also includes Coco 2 in 2029 and the original films Gatto and Ghost Market. For now, mark the calendar for June 16, 2028, and start rehearsing the line. Everybody, together.
