[Aug 17, 9:00 a.m. PT] Catching up on a showcase reveal we had not logged: Disney greenlit an original Kingdom Hearts anime series for Disney Channel and Disney+, created with franchise mastermind Tetsuya Nomura and Square Enix, promising a brand-new story that expands the game universe. It is separate from Kingdom Hearts IV, the console game also shown this weekend.

[Aug 16, 2:10 p.m. PT] Disney confirmed a second season of The Imagineering Story, Leslie Iwerks’s documentary series, for Disney+, following the teams building the projects unveiled this weekend. It is a fitting bookend, since we profiled Iwerks and her Disney worldbuilders documentary earlier this summer.

[Aug 16, 9:05 a.m. PT] Catching up on a Friday reveal we are now tracking. LION, a National Geographic nature series from Jon Favreau and the BBC Studios Natural History Unit, premieres August 19 on Nat Geo and August 20 on Disney+ and Hulu. It is one of two Favreau projects from the showcase, alongside his new Oswald series.

[Aug 14, 8:30 p.m. PT] Percy Jackson and the Olympians returns for season three on November 20, 2026, and Disney dropped the official teaser at the showcase.

[Aug 14, 8:20 p.m. PT] Marvel’s VisionQuest lands on Disney+ October 14, 2026, with Paul Bettany back as Vision and James Spader returning as Ultron. A first trailer and poster debuted.

[Aug 14, 8:15 p.m. PT] Ahsoka season two arrives January 20, 2027. Rosario Dawson leads the returning cast, and a teaser played in the room.

[Aug 14, 8:05 p.m. PT] Camp Rock 3 is now streaming on Disney+, and the Jonas Brothers marked the moment with a performance on the showcase stage.
